Breakout Sessions:

Dr. Lana Saal, NHI Forensic Automotive Consultants

“Build Your Brain, Build Your Wellness Program”

Dr. Saal will provide an opportunity for participants to grab hold of a solid understanding of how biopsychology (biological foundations of behavior) affects brain patterning and emotions, essential for true behavior change. Preparing the brain even before a Wellness program begins serves as an essential pre-step-planning to create a true motivational mindset. By gearing up the brain and setting the stage before the commencement of initiatives, the pattern and cycle of achievement of goals is initiated and success is realized.

Dr. Saal is currently the Director Wellness & Human Resources at NHI Automotive Research as well as on the Board of Directors for the National Wellness Institute (NWI).  She has also served on the American Cancer Society Board of Directors. Dr. Saal received her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Argosy University, Master of Science in Health from Russell Sage Colleges and Bachelor of Science focused in Nutrition Sciences from State University of New York College at Plattsburgh.  She is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) and Certified Wellness Practitioner (CWP).

Jared Graybeal, Superfit Foods

“5 Ways Eating Healthy Can Increase Work Performance”

Jared finds most nutrition seminars just cover information related to obesity statistics and usually end with an agenda to buy some type of product or service. Jared prefers to teach on the practical ways to implement balance and healthier eating into the daily lives of working-class Americans, so they can see the incremental change in the day to day of their work performance and overall quality of life. Jared will focus on nutrition as it relates to better sleep, more money, more time, learning to love exercise and being happier.

Jared is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Fitness Nutrition Specialist, Behavioral Change Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist with an education in Marketing & Psychology from UNF. He owns and operates 2 companies, one of which is Superfit Foods, a healthy, subscription based, fully-customizable meal prep company. The other is E3, a business consulting and marketing agency.

Cindy Persico, Health Advocate

“Emotional Well-Being: 8 Secrets of Resilient People”

COVID-19 tested our resiliency in ways never before seen. In this session, we'll look at restoring our own emotional balance as well as how to cultivate it in our employees. We'll review the 8 characteristics resilient people share, learn strategies for coaching and developing a "marathon" mental health mindset during challenging times, discuss what resiliency is and is not, and discover best ways to position ourselves for the ongoing challenges in our "new normal" of promoting wellness.

Ms. Persico is the Regional Vice President for EAP and Work/Life Services for Health Advocate. Cindy is a member of the EAP Leadership Team, and key contributor to delivering continued first class clinical services. Cindy has a Masters of Health Science in Counseling and specializes in the development and growth of high quality employee assistance programs (EAP). She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Employee Assistance Professional.

Courtney Schroeder & Laura Nolan, Humana

The importance of addressing mental health in the workplace is becoming even more critical. The purpose of this session is to help employers understand this landscape as it relates to addressing Return-To-Work strategies and their role in supporting employees on this journey with holistic program offerings. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how to identify emotional fatigue and related stressors, how they can position wellness to help them engage their entire workforce, and important considerations to elevate both their employees and business operations so they can thrive.

Courtney Schroeder is a Regional Wellness Sales Executive at Humana. Prior to joining Humana, Courtney gained over twelve years of experience in the corporate wellness industry.
