The Power of Resilience in Cultivating Healthy Leaders and a Healthy Team
In this talk for busy over-stressed individuals, Dr. Dalton-Smith shares keys to thriving in the midst of change. Discover how better self-awareness can lead to greater resilience. Through the use of engaging storytelling and real-life examples, Dr. Dalton-Smith shares the role of resilience, change management, and rest in optimizing personal productivity, improving time/energy management, and increasing your effectiveness both personally and professionally. You will leave this session with actionable next steps you can begin implementing immediately.
1. Identify your current level of resilience and how it is affecting your effectiveness and productivity.
2. Discover the relationship between stress, rest, and resilience.
3. Apply the latest research in actionable steps to reverse the negative effect burnout has on every aspect of your professional life (such as leadership ability, customer service, creativity) and personal life (such as relationships, overall satisfaction, energy level).
2021 Conference Presenters:
Billy Blanks, Jr.
Self-taught and working professionally from his youth, Billy Blanks Jr. has gained much exposure and experience in the world of dance and entertainment. As a young teen he choreographed school musical productions and created after school dance groups. As Billy’s notoriety grew, he earned roles as a dancer in music videos with Paula Abdul, Madonna, Celine Dion, Crystal Method (directed by Gore Verbinski), Quincy Jones, and Babyface. His credits include TV appearances on Dr. Oz, Meredith Vieira, The Ellen Show, Home & Family, American Dreams with Alicia Keys, The Practice, Sister Sister, Kids Incorporated, Homeboys from Outer Space, My Cousin Skeeter, and The Tonight Show.
Over time, Billy has become the face for the new generation of fitness with his revolutionary dance program, Dance It Out! He made history on the hit TV show Shark Tank after turning down a deal proposed by Mark Cuban and Daymond John when the latter shark left the tank and talked Billy into taking the deal. The result was his business Dance It Out® (DIO®) becoming the fastest growing fitness-based dance program in America! Dance It Out is also now a new Hit Lifestyle Talk show on The Lifetime Network. Billy is the son of Tae Bo® creator Billy Blanks.

Jen Arnold, MS, RD/LDN, Redesigning Wellness
Jen Arnold is host of the Redesigning Wellness podcast where she has interviewed 230 experts on the topic of organizational health. She’s on a mission to change the common approach to employee health and wellness through training, speaking and honest conversations.
For the 16 years prior to starting her own business, Jen led organizational health and wellness efforts in several sectors, including Community Health, hospital systems and a health plan. She’s also advised employers across a spectrum of industries how to start their wellness efforts.
Jen is a Tedx speaker who uses stories, activities and humor to not only make a point but to keep audiences engaged and listening. When Jen’s not interviewing experts on organizational wellbeing, creating wellness initiatives for employers, or coming up with engaging trainings, she’s traveling around the U.S. in an RV.
In April 2020, Jen and her family sold their house in Raleigh, NC and now live on a home on wheels with their two kids and 100 pound Golden Retriever. Just ask Jen where she is right now!

Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith
Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith is a board-certified internal medicine physician, work-life integration researcher and the author of the successful book 'Sacred Rest.' She shows high-achievers how to optimize their time and effort without sacrificing their happiness and relationships both personally and professionally.
She has spent 20 years in clinical practice after receiving her B.S. in Biochemistry at the University of Georgia and graduated with honors from Meharry Medical College in Nashville. She has been an adjunct faculty member at the Baker College and Davenport University in Michigan teaching course on health, nutrition, and disease progression. Now she shares her insight on stages worldwide helping leaders and teams thrive.
