After taking part in this session, not only will you personally be re-energized but you’ll also know how to you bring out the very best in your people. When it comes to helping leaders create meaningful and enduring change, David Hunnicutt is one of the nation’s best. Afternoon Keynote - MJ Shaar
Positively Energized: Three Simple Steps to Your Best Self
Would you say your life has become better paced and simpler or quicker and more complex than it was a few years ago? The vast majority of us will admit that life’s demands are constantly augmenting, making it a little harder for us to be at our best each year.
This highly interactive and experiential session will present three concrete applications of positive psychology - the scientific study of what helps us flourish - that will counteract this reality and fill you up with more vitality. More concretely, you will experience why building from what’s right generates better results than trying to fix what’s wrong. You will identify your personal strengths, and use them to envision your best possible self. Because life isn’t always that rosy, you will also discover three resilience-boosting questions that will get your head out of negativity and back into realistic empowerment. You will look into an integrity mirror to see if you live up to your own values and expectations - and which will help you make adjustments when you don’t.
We will begin our discussion of each strategy by experiencing its power for yourself. You will then hear some suggestions on how to transfer the knowledge and skills acquired into wellness programming.
You will walk away from this emotionally engaging session positively energized, equipped with concrete strategies you can apply immediately, for yourself and within your organizations, even with no or low budgets. Better yet, since these new sources of positivity involve a new way to view and interact with the world, they will not add more strain on your already busy schedules or on your already stretched resources. As a result, no obstacles should stand in the way of your reaping the benefits of what you’ll learn.
